It's A Wrap... show is over until next year!!  Thanks to all the artists, their families and all those library patrons who visited.  The students and BHS Art Boosters appreciate all the support shown by the community!!

All student artists... if you did not make it into the library last Saturday to pick up your art, please contact me at ksowens@ankiradesign.com to arrange a time to collect your work.

The Artist Reception was a great success - so many student artists attended and stayed to volunteer!!  Thank so much - it was lovely to meet the artists.  Thankfully this year the weather cooperated and we had a steady stream of visitors.  The public response was also extremely positive.  It was so fun to talk to visitors and observe them as the walked through the art displays.  Films, music, art, food and conversation... what could be finer??

Thanks for your wonderful support of the student artists of Ballard High School!!

Welcome!!  Each year the Ballard Branch of the Seattle Public Library partners with the students of Ballard High School to create a gallery-like setting to showcase the art work of young artists in the community.  This always coincides with the monthly Second Saturday Art Walk - this our sixth year of participating.  We hold a reception on that same second Saturday... this year our reception will be on May 12,2012 from 6pm to 9pm in the library.

In years past the students have been able to sell their artwork during this one evening.  This year we are going to try something new ... on-line sales.  Which we hope will be much better, as more opportunities to shop are now available.

The Art Show comes together with the help of a very small, but mighty committee of dedicated parents from BHS.  We recruit artists, collect, catalog, promote, price the art work and facilitate all sales. This year we received over 200 pieces.  On Friday we spent the entire day setting up the show - and while it was a big job, it was a great deal of fun too.  The comments expressed by library patrons during our set-up, were all positive and filled with gratitude.  The community absolutely loves to see what the kids are creating!!

The next step is to upload photos, item numbers and prices for all the artwork that will be available for purchase...  that will happen later today... so please check back later.
